    On the first Friday of the month in the summer, visit the Wonderground for performances by some of Madison’s best in a family friendly environment. Kids play while their caregivers enjoy grown-up drinks—and everyone listens to the music! Parents enjoy a night out without relying on a babysitter and kids get a chance to enjoy the museum’s most iconic outdoor space.

    Our featured performers tonight are The Funky JBeez, a music ensemble based out of Madison Wisconsin led by award-winning drummer Joey B. Banks. The band is made up of some of the best musicians in the Midwest and performs Jazz, Funk, Soul, Pop, and R&B music from the 70’s to the present. The band is best known for their high-energy Clyde Stubblefield tribute that features “The Funky Drummer” performed with James Brown.

    Our Bucket Set performance tonight is The Bagamins, featuring the unconventional paring of theremin melodies with plastic bag percussion.

    Live from the Wonderground brings music, dancing, food, and drinks for all ages to downtown Madison’s most creative playground, the Wonderground. This first Friday concert series features local bands, drinks, light snacks, and fresh air fun.

    Events take place from 5 to 8 pm, with bands performing two sets from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. In between sets, the Bucket Set features a unique mini-set performed in the Wonderground’s Giant Bucket.

    Our featured performers tonight are the Madison Mystery Tour. Driven by love for the timeless music of the Beatles, Madison Mystery Tour is an ensemble dedicated to studying and performing every song in the core catalogue of the Fab Four, note-for-note. Formerly “Get Back Wisconsin,” the group was established in 2012 and has performed numerous times to sold-out audiences at key venues and festivals in Madison and around the state.

    Our Bucket Set performance tonight is a Live from the Wonderground favorite, Eric de los Santos! Catch his marimba melodies between sets in the giant bucket.

    Our featured performers tonight are Panchromatic Steel, fusing island styles with pop hits, rock and jazz into a high-energy blend that is hard to categorize but easy to love. With top-shelf multi-instrumentalism and wide-ranging appeal, Panchromatic’s music brightens any day, transports listeners to their happiest moments in the sun, and threads the needle by being artful yet accessible to virtually everyone.

    Our Bucket Set performance tonight is Melvis, returning to MCM from a triumphant performance at Adult Swim last winter.
