Fall Maintenance Closure (September 2024)

- September Re-Opening: Saturday, September 14
- September Hours (Sept 14–Sept 30): Wednesday–Sunday, 9 am–4 pm and free Thursdays, 4 pm–8 pm
Holidays, School Breaks, and Special Hours
MCM often has alternative schedules around holidays and school breaks. Review this list of upcoming holidays and school breaks to see if the museum will be open or closed. We recommend reserving advance tickets to guarantee entry during busier seasons, such as holidays and school breaks.
September 2024
- The museum will be CLOSED for maintenance and deep cleaning from Monday, September 2 through Friday, September 13. MCM will RE-OPEN on Saturday, September 14.
- The Wonderground will be OPEN from 5 pm-8 pm on Friday, September 6, for our free Live from the Wonderground concert! Even during closed week, you can’t stop the fun or the funk with The Funkee JBeez.
Weather Closures
The museum will close during extreme weather conditions, including days when travel is deemed risky for visitors and staff.
If the Madison Metropolitan School District closes due to the weather we also will close.
We may also close or delay the opening of sections of the museum (such as our outdoor spaces) due to weather conditions.
