Hours & Schedule
Museum Hours: April–June 2025
- Regular Hours: MCM is open Wednesday–Sunday, 9 am–4 pm, with free admission each Thursday evening, 4 pm–8 pm.
- Special Hours & Holidays: Open regular hours on Juneteenth (Jun 19) and Independence Day (Jul 4).
Holidays, School Breaks, and Special Hours
MCM often has alternative schedules around holidays and school breaks for MMSD and other local districts. If you’re not a member, we recommend reserving advance tickets to expedite entry during busier seasons, such as holidays and school breaks. Advance tickets are not required!
Weather Closures
The museum will close during extreme weather conditions, including days when travel is deemed risky for visitors and staff.
If the Madison Metropolitan School District closes due to the weather we also will close.
We may also close or delay the opening of sections of the museum (such as our outdoor spaces) due to weather conditions.
