   Friday, February 27 @ 5:00 pm – 7:30 pm

   

   Zap! Kapow! Join us for a Marvel-ous members-only party as we unleash our creativity and toon in for fun! Come dressed as your favorite character from cartoons, animation, or anime and get drawn into the action. Create your own comics, follow clues on a super scavenger hunt, and fuel up with free snacks and refreshments courtesy of MCM. It’s going to be ink-credible! 

   Activities:

   • Search with acartoon-themed scavenger hunt throughout the museum. Finish and get a prize!
   • Dance and jive with Music with Junko!
   • Craft pompom cartoon characters in the Art Studio!
   • Make and take cartoon/anime pop-up puppets on the Rooftop!
   • Talk to staff from MSCR about their wonderful summer camp options!

3. Sensory-Friendly Halloween & Vaccination Clinic

   Madison Children’s Museum welcomes children and families affected by Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and/or sensory challenges to experience the museum during Sensory-Friendly Hours. This program aims to bring families together to learn through play in an environment that supports the unique needs of children with ASD and/or sensory challenges.

   During this event, SSM Health will provide a free vaccine clinic for ages 5 and up, with medical providers who specialize in administering vaccines to children with sensory processing challenges and fear of needles. This vaccine clinic is NOT just for individuals with extra sensory needs. Each person who wants to receive a vaccine registers individually for a ten-minute session (vaccinators can take families as a group at the museum, but they must register separately). The clinic will accept all types of health insurance, and will provide vaccines free of charge to those without insurance.    A variety of food and beverages, including entrees and snacks, will be available at the Lunchbox, our pay what you can cafe. Visitors may also bring their own food.
   
   Sensory-Friendly Halloween and the vaccine clinic are free for everyone, but pre-registration is requested. This event is presented in collaboration with the Autism Society of South Central Wisconsin.

5. 13 Days of Halloween at Madison Children’s Museum

   Halloween is all about confronting what scares us, in a safe way, and playing pretend—both of which are important to kids’ growth and development.

   Join us for 13 days of fun, with Halloween-themed crafts and programs every day. Wearing costumes is encouraged throughout! See our schedule of special events and drop-in programs below. All programs are FREE with museum admission.

No pre-registration is needed, activities will be open to all while supplies last.
