Join us in creating shrunken head sculptures!
We will be using apples that are soaked in salt and vinegar to sculpt faces! When they are left to dry for a day, the reaction of these materials causes the apple to shrink, so that it will appear to be a shriveled head Halloween work of art.
We will be developing fine motor skills, learning cause and effect, as well as observing the interesting chemical reaction between these substances.
Take a peak inside our “hole in the wall” miniature sculpture located to the left of the art studio door to view a few troll figures huddled around a camp fire who’s heads were made this way.
The event is a part of the museum’s 13 Days of Halloween celebration.
