    Drop-off class for preschoolers on Wednesday afternoons

    Come to the museum and practice being a super friend! Super Friends Club offers a preschool-style group experience within the museum.

    Speaking to new people, taking turns, and making friends are new skills for 3 and 4-year-olds. Led by Heather, MCM’s research and family learning manager, Super Friends Club gives kids a chance to practice these critical skills. Each week we’ll do an activity and play cooperatively in the museum.

    Caregivers can relax in the cafe while the Super Friends are playing, or enjoy the museum’s exhibits with a sibling.

    Best for ages 3 and 4, and potty-trained.

    Dates: 5-week class on Wednesdays, June 10-July 8

    Price: $25 class fee-pay at the front desk on the first day of class

  5. Focus Pocus Photography Class

    Wednesday, June 17 @ 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm

    Join us as we learn photography skills including composition, lighting, portraiture and basic editing. Emphasis will be on using your magical vision to encourage expression, observe details, and think critically. Great language and motor skills development. Participants will select one of their photos to be printed and framed for a group art exhibition in the MCM Art Studio.

    This is a drop-off class for kids who have completed grades 2-4.

    Fee: $20 for the 4-session course, payable at the front desk on the first day. 

    Participants should wear sunscreen and bring a water bottle if desired, and a tablet if they have a personal one they’d like to use. Tablets will also be provided by MCM.

  6. Camp Kindergarten 2026

    Monday, August 17 @ 9:00 am – 11:00 am

    9–11 am, Monday–Thursday, August 17-20

    Children entering kindergarten in the fall will run like a gerbil, create like an artist, and think like a scientist. Each morning will start with free play time. Making new friends and playing together will help campers practice important kindergarten skills like turn-taking and standing in line, and will encourage kindness and confidence.

    Led by Heather Davis, MCM Family Learning and Research Manager, this popular program helps children develop social emotional skills as they prepare to start the school year.

    Campers may pack a snack. All activities will take place on-site at MCM.

    Fee: $100/child. Member discount 10%.

  7. Drum Club with Tim

    1-1:45 pm, June 17–August 5
    Ages: 5-12

    Join MCM Drumming Club and learn the basics of hand drumming including making sounds on the drum, technique, rhythms, and improvisation, careful listening, and drumming successfully with a group.

    The club meets weekly for 8 weeks—come as often as you can!

    Bring a hand drum if you have one. Some drums will be provided.
