Free: Global Impact Musicians night at MCM

Thursday, July 23 @ 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Enjoy this Free Family Night at the museum featuring activity stations, a scavenger hunt and a musical performance by Global Impact Musicians. Global Impact Musician is a leadership and professional development fellowship program designed to support and equip emerging artists and community leaders from Africa. Global Impact Musician eliminates barriers by equipping artist with tools, mindset, and support they need to thrive as leaders and innovators on a global stage.

4:00 PM | Museum Exploration

Guests receive complimentary admission to the museum and are invited to participate in a Hidden Birds Scavenger Hunt throughout the exhibits.


5:00–6:00 PM | Interactive Activity Stations

  • Make an East African Percussion Instrument: Create your own instrument inspired by East African musical traditions.
  • African Dance Workshop: Learn basic dance movements and rhythms from East African traditions in an engaging, all-ages workshop.
  • Bird Discovery Station: Explore bird migration, seasonal weather patterns, and the science of how wings help birds travel.
  • Meet the Artists: Learn about the musicians, their instruments, and the cultural traditions represented in the performance.
  • Instrument Petting Zoo: Try a variety of musical instruments in a hands-on, family-friendly setting.
  • Storytelling Corner: Enjoy stories and folktales inspired by East African cultures and wildlife.


6:00–7:00 PM | Concert

Global Impact Musicians Performance: An interactive family concert featuring East African music, storytelling, and audience participation

7:00–8:00 PM | Activity Stations Reopen

Guests are welcome to revisit or experience any of the following:
