Girl Scout Workshop: Black Ash Basket Weaving
Sunday, November 16 @ 1:00 pm – 3:30 pm

In this special program for already-enrolled Girl Scouts, participants will join Indigenous artists to learn the cultural significance of the black ash tree and its connection to the environment. Together, they will explore the challenges this tree faces today and discover how traditional practices honor and preserve its legacy. Guided step by step, each participant will weave their own black ash basket, experiencing the process from the very first strand to the final shape. By the end of the session, everyone will take home a beautifully handcrafted basket and a deeper appreciation for both the artistry and the story behind it.
