    Each week we will explore sculpture and texture with open ended play clay exploration.

    Clay Creations is our drop-in ceramics program for all ages. For a $5 fee, participants can sculpt and paint their own ceramic clay creation. We will glaze and fire the work in our kiln and it will be ready for pickup within 2 weeks.

    In this week’s installment, offered as part of the Wisconsin Science Festival, we take inspiration from the microscopic world to make clay creations based on microbes.

    Classes are led by art professionals and feature a choice of a weekly project idea or open- ended building.

    We are making some new miniature foods for our dollhouse at Madison Children’s Museum.
    Stop by the art classroom and learn how to make tiny fruit, vegetables, treats and other foods from polymer clay in this free drop-in workshop. Please register for the workshop in advance. Recommended for ages 9 to adult.

    Drop by the art studio during clay week and help us make clay sculpture pieces to add to our mosaic wall. We will be creating press molded tiles, plant pots, and clay animal figures to add to our mosaic column. See a piece of your art become part of the museum!
