Teaching bike safety before new school year
WKOW
By Craig Czarnecki
MADISON (WKOW) — Area kids learn some valuable bike safety tips just in time for the new school year.
Leadership Greater Madison partnered with the Madison Police and Fire Departments for Tuesday’s bike rodeo.
Kids learned how to properly fit their helmet, and check their bike equipment, along with other tips that will keep them safe when biking to and from school.
Lt. Jen Krueger Favor with the Madison Police Department says, “Following the rules of the road being weary of pedestrians on sidewalks, stopping at sop signs, riding in a straight line, being able to look over their left shoulder without swerving and hitting something else.”
After the rodeo, all participants got free admission into the Madison Children’s Museum.
