People getting funky at the Madison Children’s Museum
WKOW
MADISON (WKOW) — People are getting funky at the Madison Children’s Museum.
That’s because their newest exhibit, The Funkyard, officially opened Wednesday. The museum held a grand opening for the ocassion. The event featured live music and activities for the whole family.
The new outdoor exhibit features and obstacle course and a palette fort. The play-exhibit is made completely from recycled materials.
“Our museum likes to demonstrate to kids, raised to think about things we may throw away,” said MCM Director of Education Kia Karlen. “So we have many exhibits made out of materials and try to encourage kids, to think about creative reuse rather than just throw out a toy that doesn’t work.”
The Funkyard will be open daily from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. through labor day. There is no admission charge.
