Volunteer at Madison Children’s Museum

Put a smile on a child’s face and make a difference in the community. Become an MCM volunteer! Ages 14 and up can volunteer on their own, and ages 8-13 can volunteer and gain work experience when accompanied by a caregiver.  Groups of adult volunteers can also volunteer for special events.

Volunteer Position Descriptions

All volunteer shifts are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

Individual Volunteer Opportunities

Museum Volunteers help out in the museum’s public spaces, facilitate activities at special events, or contribute to our weekly programs. Volunteers who are accepted make a commitment to a weekly two hour shift for at least two months.

  • Art Studio: help children explore their creativity and have fun with art
  • Rooftop Ramble: educate and explore in our four-season outdoor space with gardens and live animals
  • Exhibits Floater: help in a variety of exhibits including Possible-opolis, Coops to Cathedrals, and Wildernest

Group Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteering for special events can be a meaningful experience for your work, civic, or educational group.
