Guest Post: How to Dress for Wonder Ball
Shop • Give Back • Look Fabulous!
You’re invited to an exclusive shopping event next Thursday, August 1. MCM has partnered with the Pink Poodle, Madison’s west-side consignment boutique, to host the Wonder Ball Dress Benefit Sale. Wonder Ball and Wonder Prom attendees are invited to this exclusive shopping event to purchase their gala attire, sip cocktails, taste hors d’oeuvres, and chat with friends.
To help Wonder Ball and Wonder Prom attendees with their formalwear choices, Kim from the Pink Poodle has written a guest post. Read more for Kim’s fashion expertise and style tips.
Dressing for a gala in Madison is a wonderful opportunity to pull out all the stops and play grown-up dress-up! Whether you choose a bold and beautiful gown, or play it a little more elegant and reserved, it’s a great opportunity to have a night out wining, dining, and dancing for a great cause.
For a formal gala, women will likely be wearing floor-length attire—which can be a gown, or a long skirt, and heels. With the MCM event’s polka-dot theme, it can be tricky finding a polka-dot gown; but, it will be fun to pair polka-dot tops with formal skirts, and either elegant or bright accessories. Beth, the owner of the Pink Poodle, loves black and white polka-dots with red, fuchsia or yellow accessories and, of course, “lots of icy bling!”
Galas are also a wonderful opportunity to “dress for a British wedding.”Madison is generally not a hat-wearing community, so attending a gala is the perfect opportunity to play with and wear beautiful headwear—big hats and also fascinators. A fun fascinator is all you need to make a simple ensemble instantly formal and fabulous!
The Pink Poodle will be open one hour later on the evening of August 1 to host this special benefit sale. Ten percent of the evening’s proceeds will benefit Madison Children’s Museum. RSVP to the sale today.
We can’t wait to see you at the sale!
