“Be an ambassador for the great work of Madison Children’s Museum.”
J.H. Findorff & Son Inc. has supported Madison Children’s Museum across our four decades. They were instrumental in the move into our current “forever home” on the Capitol Square ten years ago. At our recent In Good Company event on February 2, 2020—a gathering to celebrate the museum’s business supporters and advocates—J.H. Findorff & Son Inc. President & CEO Jim Yehle graciously agreed to say why he and his company support the museum. Below you can read a recap of his remarks. Thanks, Jim, for your kind words and your support!

By Jim Yehle, President & CEO at J.H. Findorff & Son Inc.
We support Madison Children’s Museum’s commitment to improve the community that we work, live and play in through accessible education, inclusive programming, and a focus on sustainability.
Why do we partner with Madison Children’s Museum?
Findorff and the museum share values and history, and the museum helps us express and live our values in the community. Findorff’s core purpose is to be a resource to our community. The museum’s mission is to connect families with their communities. When we help the museum, they then help others. They provide childhood development opportunities through early learning and experiences. They improve the health of our community. And while these opportunities are available to everyone, they benefit 1,000 Findorff employees and families.
We are both long term organizations—40 years for the museum and 130 years for us.
The museum deserves our support because their exhibits and programs set the standards for the field. They are consistently ranked in the top 10 of best children’s museums, out of over 400 nationwide. I want to highlight two programs in particular:
- Their Access for Everyone program makes sure that money is never a barrier to visiting the museum, and welcomes all of the community in so many ways.
- Their First-Time Parent Membership—free from birth until the child turns 18 months—has helped get thousands of babies off to a healthy start.
We help the museum because Madison Children’s Museum has needs and we have resources. We want to continue to move the museum forward. We want to integrate more outdoor play. The former parking ramp needs to be replaced with new space and outdoor learning opportunities.
That’s how we help. Everyone in this room can help. Be an ambassador for the great work of Madison Children’s Museum. Talk to your friends and business contacts.
Finally, I want to say thank you to my co-worker Matt Premo, who serves on the board of the museum. I know they rely on his good judgment in all matters, and his expertise whenever issues come up about the building. He’s been a key advisor on the project to transform the back lot into a major new exhibit.
Please support that campaign—Findorff will support it. And so will my wife, Jessica, and I.
Thank you.
