Baby’s First Halloween
It’s disappointing not to be celebrating Baby’s First Halloween at the museum this year, but you can create some of the magic at home! Here are some of our favorite activities to do with our tiniest visitors.
1. Ghostie Footprints
- Construction paper or card stock
- white paint and paint brush
- googly eyes
Paint, press, and dry!

2. Monster Blocks
- Leftover boxes (you know you some lying around right now)
- paper or markers
- your imagination!
Wrap them up or draw some spooky faces. You can stack them up and your little one will love to knock them down!

3. Halloween Sensory Box
- large box and duct tape
- various sensory items such as: ribbon, bubble wrap, sticky paper, aluminum foil, velcro, felt shapes, etc.
Assemble and enjoy!

4. Mess-Free Tummy Time Painting
- Ziploc bags
- paper and paint
Place your paper (it can be in the shape of a pumpkin or ghost, etc.) in a plastic baggie with a tablespoon or two of paint. Seal and squish the paint around!
Bonus: Giant tummy time painting mat!
- clear plastic shower curtains
- duct tape
- shaving cream (a few cans)
- paints
Spread the shower curtain on the floor, fill with shaving cream and then paint (careful not to get too close to the edge). Seal the edges with duct tape. The different textures and the colors make for a unique tummy time experience! Even very young babies will take notice.

Happy Halloween!
