Nutcracker Ballet Pop-Up with Dance Wisconsin

Join Ms. JoJean Retrum, Artistic Director of Dance Wisconsin (embed link https://www.dancewisconsin.org/), for a reading of Plum accompanied by dancers from Dance Wisconsin’s upcoming production of the Nutcracker. Plum, by Sean Hayes and Scott Icenogle, is a holiday story of magic and inclusion that introduces some of the Nutcracker story and tells children how the Sugar Plum Fairy got her wings. Discover how pantomime plays a large part in storytelling ballet and get an introduction to some of the movements used in the Nutcracker ballet. Dancers from Dance Wisconsin will perform excerpts from the Nutcracker including Clara, the Nutcracker, a Marzipan candy and more! Dance Wisconsin’s full-length production of the Nutcracker will be performed on December 20 and 21 at 2:00 PM at the Wisconsin Union Theater, Shannon Hall.
