Whittlin’ with Jo

Log Cabin

Jo will demonstrate whittling and woodworking while guiding participants through the basics of carving on soap. We'll be working on our fine motor skills, creative thinking, and spacial reasoning while we explore a common past time of the 1830s and 1840s.

Let's learn to tie all kinds of useful and decorative knots! Step-by-step instruction cards will be provided. See demonstrations of historic use of knots in early settlement, agriculture, and maritime history. Practicing knot tying involves fine motor skills and sequencing.
