Speaking to new people\, taking turns\, and making friends are new skills for 3 and 4-year-olds. Super Friends Club offers a preschool-style group experience within the museum. Guided by MCM’s early education team\, Super Friends Club gives kids a chance to practice critical social skills and cooperative play with new activities each week. \n\n\n\nWhile the Super Friends are playing\, caregivers can relax in MCM’s cafe\, enjoy our tranquil Rooftop\, or explore the exhibits with a younger or older sibling. Best for ages 3 through 4 and potty-trained. This $50 class has 10 sessions over 13 weeks (no session on September 27\, November 1\, and November 29)\, and requires online registration. DESCRIPTION:Every first Friday this summer\, enjoy free concerts at MCM featuring an eclectic mix of Madison bands. Adults get to dance and chat\, kids climb and play\, and caregivers enjoy low-stress social time in an outdoor play space like no other!  \n\n\n\nTonight we’re welcoming The Funkee JBeez\, an ensemble led by award-winning drummer Joey B. Banks. The band is made up of some of the best musicians in the Midwest and performs Jazz\, Funk\, Soul\, Pop\, and R&B music from the 70’s to the present. The band is best known for their high-energy Clyde Stubblefield tribute that features “The Funky Drummer” performed with James Brown. \n\n\n\nAt intermission\, don’t miss tonight’s set from The Bagamins! Discover their delightfully unconventional blend of theremin melodies and plastic bag percussion\, performed in the Wonderground’s Giant Bucket. \n\n\n\nLive from the Wonderground admission is free! You may choose to provide a donation at the door\, but no entry fee is required. Proceeds benefit the work of Madison Children’s Museum and allow us to bring accessible programming to our community. All tickets are at the door\, no advance registration. Please enter at the Wonderground gate on E. Dayton Street\, by the Log Cabin. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLearn more and view upcoming Live from the Wonderground events. \n\n\n\nLive from the Wonderground brings music\, dancing\, food\, and drinks for all ages to downtown Madison’s most creative playground\, the Wonderground. This first Friday concert series features local bands\, drinks\, light snacks\, and fresh air fun. \n\n\n\nEvents take place from 5 to 8 pm\, with bands performing two sets from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. DESCRIPTION:MCM welcomes our friends at Madison Contemporary Dance! Artistic director Sara Rohs will teach creative movement dance classes for children of all ages. Caregivers are also welcome to participate.  \n\n\n\nCreative movement is a contemporary form of dance that combines movement and artistic expression without the need for specific training. These activities provide a joyful way for children to explore movement through music\, develop physical skills\, channel energy\, stimulate imagination and promote creativity. It focuses on the development of motor skills and emotional expression. \n\n\n\nToday\, we’ll explore creative movement through play: dance games\, interactive songs\, and imaginative stories. You will see lots of play with parachutes\, scarves\, wands\, and musical instruments! \n\n\n\nThis event is part of our FREE Thursday evenings\, 4 pm–8 pm every week.
