Science on the Square: Free Admission

Join Madison Children’s Museum and Wisconsin Science Festival for Science on the Square, a free evening of science programs, talks, and more for both kids and adults.

This Friday night bash will take place on the capitol square in downtown Madison. Explore dozens of venues at your own pace. Museums, pubs, restaurants, stores and more will host #WiSciFest events. Look for the orange lights and balloons to find science fest events. Venues will host informal science talks or demonstrations, tastings, stargazing, hands-on activities and more.

Madison Children’s Museum activities (open 6-9 p.m.):

  • UW Exploration Stations, 6-8:30 p.m., with Society of Women Engineers, Geology Museum, Plant Pathology, Operation Diabetes, Catalysts for Science Policy, and Veterinary Medicine
  • The Science of Spinning with Truly Remarkable Loon, 6:30 p.m.
  • Glassworking  Demo with UW Master Glassblower Tracy Drier (details TBD)
  • What Color Is: Data Stored in Stacks of Color, 6-8:30 p.m.
  • Pollinator Promenade to Wisconsin Historical Museum, 7:30 p.m. (weather permitting)
