Make Music Madison at Madison Children’s Museum

The museum is pleased to host a stage for Make Music Madison, a citywide celebration of community music-making. Due to the rain, today’s programs will take place inside the museum’s Community Concourse. There is no admission charge to attend MMM performances; regular admission fees apply to visit the museum’s exhibits.

Join us for free performances at Rotary Plaza, just outside the museum:

  • 12-1 p.m. Harmonica Mass Appeal: harmonica lesson and jam with Dewayne “Mr. Harmonica” Keyes. Free harmonicas for the first 100 participants!
  • 2-2:30 p.m. Declan Killeen Toomey: 8 year old solo violinist, Declan Killeen Toomey, has been studying violin since he was 3. Declan has performed at Overture Center, Capitol Theatre, Alliant Energy Center, Monona Terrace, Kohl Center, UW football, hockey, volleyball, soccer, and basketball, Madison Mallards, Atwood City Limits Music Festival, Catfish River Music Festival, Wisconsin Brewing, Come Back In, Brocach Irish Pub, and Craftsman Table & Tap. He has also performed for Make Music Madison, Madison Night Market, Tunes in the Terminal at Dane County Regional Airport, and Natural Family Expo. You may have recognized him from WKOW news or WORT 89.9 FM radio.
  • 3-3:30 p.m. Polkalamity:  polka, waltz, and world music for your dancing and singing needs!
  • 4:30-5 p.m. Rhea Duo: father/daughter duo featuring classic pop/rock covers on viola, guitar and keyboard.
